Planning an Intimate Desert Wedding in Abu Dhabi (Under 40 Guests)

An intimate desert wedding in Abu Dhabi for 10 to 40 guests typically runs AED 60,000 to 150,000 all-in, takes 8 to 12 weeks to plan, and works best as a single sunset-to-stars evening at a private camp. The two biggest decisions are the date (October to March is ideal) and whether you want a religious or civil ceremony on site.
Why couples are choosing intimate over big
The trend is real. Half of our wedding enquiries in 2025 were for fewer than 50 guests. Couples are spending more per head and less in total, choosing a single beautiful evening over a three-day event. The desert is the perfect canvas for it. One long table, one fire, one sunset, one dance floor.

What to spend more on
- Photographer. The dunes deserve it.
- Lighting. Make the camp glow at night.
- One signature dish per cuisine instead of a buffet.
What you can skip
- Imported florals. Use local palms, candles, lanterns.
- Multiple stages. One sunset arch does the job.
- International talent. Local musicians outperform on cultural fit.

Common questions about intimate desert weddings
Can we get legally married in the desert?
The legal paperwork is signed at a registered office in Abu Dhabi. The desert ceremony is the symbolic and cultural celebration. Many couples sign in the morning, then come to the camp for the evening event.
What if it rains?
Rare in the wedding season, but covered. We have a permanent majlis tent that seats 60 fully covered.
Can we stay overnight at the camp?
Yes. We arrange overnight tents for the couple and a small inner circle, with breakfast at sunrise.
Is the camp accessible for elderly guests?
Yes. The main camp deck is firm-ground accessible. We provide 4x4 door-to-door drop-off and reserved seating.
Can we customise the menu?
Fully. Indian, Arabic, Western, vegetarian, vegan, allergen-free. Multi-cuisine is included in most packages.
Send your intimate wedding brief and we will reply within 24 hours.
