What is included

Activity design

A set of rotating stations chosen for your group size, objective and physical range, built from a library that includes dune relay, archery, falconry and navigation.

Trained facilitators

One facilitator per station plus a lead coordinator, briefed on your company's specific objective, whether that is collaboration, communication or competitive energy.

Live scoring

A scoreboard tracked across rotations so results are visible to participants in real time, feeding into a closing presentation or awards moment.

Accessibility scaling

Every physical station has a lower-exertion alternative scored on the same scale, so mixed fitness groups compete on equal terms.

Safety and recovery

Medical standby, 4x4 recovery vehicles and a briefed safety lead present for the full duration of any physical activity.

Debrief and close

A short facilitated debrief connecting the day's outcomes back to the stated objective, followed by refreshments or a closing dinner.

Designed around an objective, not a menu

Most desert team building briefs arrive as a list of activities. We start with the opposite question: what should be different about how this group works together by the end of the day. A sales team that needs to collaborate across regions plays a different game than a leadership group that needs to make fast decisions under pressure, even though both might use a dune relay and a navigation station.

We build the station rotation, the scoring weight and the debrief questions around that objective, and brief every facilitator on it before the group arrives. The activities are the mechanism, not the point.

Facilitation, not supervision

A facilitator's job is to keep every participant engaged, not just to run a safe station. We staff one facilitator per activity plus a lead coordinator holding the master scoreboard, so no team is left waiting between rotations and no station runs without someone actively managing pace and morale.

Physical range varies widely in a corporate group. Every high-exertion station, including the dune relay and obstacle course, has a low-exertion variant scored on the identical scale, so a participant who cannot run the dune still contributes fully to their team's result. This is planned into the design, not improvised on the day.

  • Dune relay and sand sculpting for physical and creative range
  • Archery and falconry for precision and calm under instruction
  • Navigation and puzzle stations for problem solving under time pressure
  • Cooling stations and shaded rest points built into the rotation schedule

Closing the day with a result

A team building day that ends without a visible outcome fades within a week. We close every programme with either a facilitated debrief tying the activities back to the stated objective, or a competitive awards moment with a live scoreboard reveal, trophy presentation and a short talk from the lead facilitator on what the scores actually showed about the group.

For programmes that run into the evening, this closing moment often sits inside a dinner service, giving the group a natural transition from activity to reflection without a hard stop.

The activity library

Every programme is built from the same core library, mixed and weighted differently depending on your objective, group size and site. Nothing below is generic filler: each station has run at real Abu Dhabi corporate programmes and has a facilitator who knows how to run it, score it and adapt it for a mixed-fitness group.

  • Dune relay, physical and team-paced, with a low-exertion variant
  • Archery, precision under instruction, calm for large and small groups alike
  • Falconry, a hands-on cultural station most first-time visitors have never tried
  • Navigation and puzzle stations, problem solving under time pressure
  • Sand sculpting and craft challenges, a lower-exertion creative station
  • Obstacle course, with a scaled alternative scored on the same rotation

Outdoors by design, with a weather plan

This is an outdoor desert programme, not an indoor venue with a desert theme, and that is deliberate: the dunes are the reason a team building day here photographs and feels different from a hotel conference room. November through March is peak season for a reason, with daytime temperatures that suit a full day of physical activity without heavy scheduling around the heat.

Between roughly May and September we shift high-exertion stations to early morning or after sunset, lean harder on the lower-exertion and shaded alternatives already built into every rotation, and keep medical standby on site throughout. A wet-weather and extreme-heat contingency is confirmed as part of the site and safety plan ahead of every date, so a change in conditions adjusts the schedule rather than cancelling the day.

Pairing a desert day with a Yas Island attraction

Some corporate briefs run a full day at a Yas Island attraction, Ferrari World, Warner Bros World or SeaWorld, then convoy out to the desert for the evening, or run the reverse: activities in the cooler morning hours followed by an afternoon at an attraction. It works because the two formats are not competing for the same slot: a theme park delivers shared hospitality, while a facilitated desert programme delivers the structured challenge and debrief a theme-park day cannot.

Frequently asked questions

How many people can you facilitate in one programme?+

From 20 up to 400 participants. Above roughly 150 we run multiple parallel rotations with duplicated stations so no team waits more than a few minutes between activities.

What if some participants cannot manage physical activities?+

Every physical station has a lower-exertion alternative scored on the same scale, agreed with you in advance. Participation is designed to be full, not optional, for every fitness level.

Can the activities be tied to a specific business objective?+

Yes. We ask what should change in how the group works before choosing stations, and brief facilitators and design the debrief questions around that objective rather than running a generic activity list.

Do you provide safety and medical cover?+

Yes, on every programme involving physical activity. A briefed safety lead, medical standby and 4x4 recovery vehicles are present for the full duration.

How far in advance should we book?+

Three to four weeks for a half-day programme, six to eight weeks for a multi-team competitive format with 100 or more participants, particularly in the November to March peak season.

Can the day end with a dinner or awards presentation?+

Yes, and most full-day programmes do. We build a closing segment with live scoreboard reveal, trophy presentation and a seated dinner into the same site so there is no venue change.

Do you facilitate in languages other than English?+

Yes. Facilitators are briefed and available in English and Arabic, and we can source additional language support for specific groups with advance notice.

What is not included in the base price?+

Branded merchandise, custom trophy production and transport from city hotels are quoted separately, since group size and pickup points vary between clients.

Is this an indoor or outdoor programme?+

Outdoor, on real dunes, which is the point: it is what makes the day photograph and feel different from a hotel conference room. Shaded rest points and cooling stations are built into every rotation, and a wet-weather or extreme-heat contingency is confirmed as part of the site and safety plan ahead of the date.

What is the best time of year to run this in the desert heat?+

November through March gives the widest scheduling flexibility for a full day of physical activity. Between roughly May and September we still run programmes, but shift high-exertion stations to early morning or after sunset and lean on the lower-exertion, shaded alternatives already built into the rotation.

Can we combine a desert team building day with a Yas Island attraction?+

Yes. Some groups run a full day at Ferrari World, Warner Bros World or SeaWorld, then convoy out for a desert evening, or the reverse, activities in the cooler morning followed by an attraction in the afternoon. The two work well together because a theme park delivers hospitality while a facilitated desert programme delivers the structured challenge and debrief.
