Is there electricity and wifi at a desert camp?
Yes. A production desert camp runs on silent diesel generators with distributed power for lighting, AV, kitchen and charging points, plus a backup unit. Internet is delivered by 4G and 5G routers with signal boosters, which is sufficient for presentations, card payments and live streaming.
Power
Generators are sized to the load with N+1 redundancy on any event running AV or a live stream, and are positioned downwind and out of earshot of the guest area. Distribution is via buried or matted cable runs so nothing crosses a walkway.
Connectivity
Al Khatim has usable mobile coverage from both national networks. For corporate events we add a dedicated bonded router and, where a live stream is critical, a second carrier as failover.
If your session is confidential, we can run a closed local network with no public guest access.
