What is the difference between event management and event production?

Event management covers planning, budgeting, supplier coordination, guest logistics and on-site delivery. Event production covers the physical and technical build: staging, rigging, lighting, sound, video, scenic fabrication and power. Most large UAE events need both, and problems usually arise when they sit with separate companies.

Who does what

The event manager owns the budget, timeline, vendor contracts, run of show and guest experience. The producer owns the technical drawings, load-in schedule, crew calls and everything that must be built, powered and de-rigged.

On a small dinner one team does both. On a 400-guest gala with LED walls and a live stream, production is a discipline in its own right with its own project manager.

Why single accountability matters

When management and production are contracted separately, the gap between them is where schedule slips and cost overruns live. A single contract removes the argument about whose responsibility a missing power drop was.
