Answer

Can non-Muslims host cultural events in the UAE desert?

Yes. Non-Muslim residents and visitors can host cultural events in the UAE desert, including Emirati heritage programmes, Diwali and Christmas celebrations, and international festivals. Standard conditions apply: respectful dress at heritage stations, licensed alcohol service only, and adjusted programming during Ramadan.

What is welcomed

Emirati heritage programming, including Ayyala, Yola, oud performance, falconry and henna, is presented for guests of every background and is a highlight for international groups.

We regularly host Diwali, Christmas, Lunar New Year and national day celebrations for expatriate communities and multinational employers at the camp.

Practical conditions

Alcohol is served only through licensed partners with the relevant approval. During Ramadan, daytime food and drink service is not public and programming shifts to after iftar, which in practice makes for a beautiful evening event.
