A corporate group coming to Ras Al Khaimah often wants a story as well as a venue. The emirate has one, in forts, a museum in a restored fort and the remains of older settlements.

Dhayah Fort

A fort on a hilltop with views across the plain and the coast. A guide can tell its story in a few minutes. The approach involves steps, so plan for footwear and fitness, and note there is little shade.

The National Museum

The National Museum of Ras Al Khaimah is housed in a restored fort building and tells the emirate's history through objects and displays. It suits a short guided stop of about an hour.

How to use heritage well

  • Keep it short. Forty-five minutes to an hour is enough.
  • Bring a guide. Context turns a building into a story.
  • Time it for light. Late afternoon is cooler.
  • Follow it with an event. A visit and then a hotel dinner makes a complete programme.

Access

These are public sites with their own hours and rules for group size and filming. We do not hold events at them. What we do is design the evening that follows in your hotel, with a heritage theme that echoes what the group has just seen.
