1. Is it private, or are you buying a seat?

The biggest divider. Ask directly: how many separate groups are on site that evening? Watch for "private area", which usually means a roped section of a busy camp, better than a seat, and not exclusivity.

2. Do they own the site?

An operator on their own or leased land holds standing permits and controls load-in, build standard and crew. A broker depends on a third party, which is where most late problems come from. Ask who owns the camp.

3. What are the washrooms like?

The question people are too polite to ask and the one that most determines whether guests enjoy themselves. Ask for photographs of the actual facilities rather than the marketing set.

4. Where is the food produced?

Desert catering means an approved kitchen elsewhere, a drive, and holding food safely at temperature at the other end. An operator who cannot describe their cold chain is carrying real risk in UAE heat.

5. Who files the permits?

Site access, amplified sound, and drone or filming approvals. Ask to see the public liability certificate. A supplier pushing permit responsibility onto you is also pushing the liability.

6. What does the quote contain?

Build and strike itemised separately from event-day service, permits named rather than buried in "production". Then ask two questions: what changes if we move midweek, and what changes if we add twenty guests. An operator quoting from a real cost model answers both immediately.
