Best Time to Visit a Desert Camp in Abu Dhabi (Month-by-Month Guide)

Abu Dhabi has a desert climate, which means the time of year you book your event will affect everything from guest comfort to pricing. Here is the honest month-by-month guide our planners use at Sparkling Sandset.
Peak season: October – April
Daytime temperatures sit between 22°C and 30°C, evenings drop to a pleasant 15–22°C. This is the prime window for outdoor weddings, galas, and overnight stays. Expect peak pricing and book 3–6 months ahead.
November – February
The sweet spot. Crisp evenings, perfect for bonfires, candle-lit dinners, and outdoor ceremonies. Every weekend books out early.
March – April
Warmer days, still cool nights. Great for sunset weddings and corporate offsites — and the dunes catch the most dramatic golden-hour light.
Shoulder season: May & September
Daytime heat climbs to 38–42°C but evenings are still workable from 8pm onward. We schedule sunset-to-late events, position cooling units, and shift menus to lighter cuisines. Pricing drops 15–20%.
Off-season: June – August
Day heat is intense (often 45°C+). We do not recommend daytime events — but late-night majlis dinners, sheesha lounges, and indoor-tent receptions still work beautifully, especially for residents who want a different backdrop without the peak-season crowds. Expect the lowest prices of the year.
Event-specific timing
- Weddings: October – March is ideal; book by July for a winter wedding.
- Corporate galas: November and February dominate; book 3 months ahead.
- Family celebrations: December – February for cool evenings.
- Photo and film shoots: January – March golden-hour windows are unmatched.
What about Ramadan?
We host beautiful private Iftar and Suhoor experiences during Ramadan — but standard corporate entertainment is paused out of respect. If your date falls in Ramadan, talk to us about a heritage-focused programme instead.
